Reframed Health’s Origin Story
Hello! I’m Stefan, and I created Reframed Health.
I’ve always been fascinated by what makes each person uniquely themselves. Not just their biology, but their experiences, the meaning they make from those experiences, and the stories they carry about who they are and how life works.
What I’ve come to appreciate is this: people aren’t broken — they’re adaptive. Many of the habits and self-restraining patterns we carry began as intelligent survival responses. At some point, they helped us belong, stay safe, or move through challenge.
But over time, those same adaptations can become limiting. They can quietly shape our stress responses, our nervous system, and even our long-term health.
That realization sparked my deeper curiosity. I wanted to understand how life experiences become patterns in the body.
Traditional Chinese Medicine gave me a language for that connection. Within it, Five Element psychology offered a particularly clear map — a way to see how experience becomes pattern, how pattern becomes habit, and how those habits influence both emotional and physical wellbeing.
After graduating from Simon Fraser University and traveling the world, I followed that curiosity into formal training. I became a Registered Acupuncturist and TCM practitioner in British Columbia and later completed the first Doctor of TCM examination offered in Canada. I am a certified life coach, certified PhotoBioModulation (Red Light Therapy) practitioner, qi gong instructor, and have taken countless courses on energy and somatic work.
Across nearly two decades of clinical work — with athletes, families, and people navigating stress, fertility, injury, and life transitions — one truth keeps showing up:
Many symptoms are the echo of adaptations that once made sense.
When people see that with compassion instead of self-judgment, change becomes easier and more lasting.
That insight eventually grew into Reframed Health.
Today, my work blends Five Element psychology with modern understanding of stress and nervous system resilience. I help people recognize how self-containment and self-limiting patterns show up in the body — and how small shifts in awareness can restore energy, clarity, and choice.
This process isn’t about fixing yourself.
It’s about understanding yourself.
And when that happens, something opens up:
More joy.
More curiosity.
More vitality.
More freedom to be fully yourself.
